Just between us… Hairspray Throwbacks, Driving Stick, & Why Guitar Guys Give Us the Ick
You didn't hear it from us but this is our ninth podcast and we are addressing rumors we didn't start but love to hear.

Have you seen Nikki Blonsky’s TikTok? We get into the chaos that is her Hairspray-era confidence, her Zac Efron crush, and the internet’s obsession with dragging her now. It spirals (as usual) into a deep dive on our own Zac Efron stories—like the time we drove to Sundance convinced one of us would marry him. Spoiler: we didn’t, but we did end up at World Market buying throw pillows for the life that never was.
We talk about the chaos of getting our driver’s licenses—one of us in Brazil (stick shift and all), one of us getting a free pass from a DMV guy whose ex-wife shared her name. From there, it’s a whole thing about parallel parking pride, the fear of manual cars, and falling off motorcycles while trying to be cool.
Then there’s the bike commercial fail: one of us got invited to ride bikes for a date-slash-ad and completely forgot how to ride one. Turns out “it’s just like riding a bike” is a lie. Cue the wobbly struggle, camera crew, and a guy who (rightfully) never texted again.
We also dive into skiing and snowboarding date disasters, including that one time we tried to impress someone and ended up abandoned on the bunny hill. D1 athlete dreams? Crushed.
And of course, the dating icks: Velcro wallets, guys singing in the car unironically, and Utah boys pulling out guitars at parties thinking they’re the next Ed Sheeran. One of us even fell in love when her biggest ick became endearing—proof that love really does change you.
We wrap up with a roast of those chaotic guy-girl guitar jam session parties, our shared history with the same handful of aggressively average men, and a whole lot of memories we probably should’ve blocked out.
Key takeaways?
Don’t say yes to a bike commercial if it’s been 10+ years
Guitars at parties are a red flag
Parallel parking is a personality trait
Sometimes your biggest ick becomes your biggest green flag
And Zac Efron? Always worth the road trip
